School Overview: Palmer Lake Elementary is located in the Lewis-Palmer School District andnd serves K-6 students. We have maintained our Performance Plan rating again for the 2024-2025 school year Our current enrollment is 285 students. The student population breakdown is as follows: Minority - 26%; Multi Lingual - 14.4%; Free/Reduced Lunch Eligible - 35%; Students with Disabilities - 14%; and 6% of our students are identified as gifted. The vision of Palmer Lake Elementary School is to ensure a… ll students learn at high levels to reach their full potential. Our mission is to develop our capacity to function as a professional learning community. Palmer Lake Elementary earned 77.0/100 points on our 2023-2024 School Performance Framework. Our rating is performance with low participation. Process and Stakeholder Involvement: Two major stakeholder groups were included in the creation of our UIP. Licensed staff memebers and our Building Accountability Advisory Committe (BAAC). The staff at Palmer Lake have at least three major data meetings a year, which informs our UIP planning. The BAAC is a representative body of parents and staff that meet five times a year, with a key focus of UIP input. The school welcomes parent and community involvement through volunteer opportunities. Palmer Lake Elementary has an active Parent Teacher Organization that hosts fundraisers throughout the year to support our students, staff and building/playground needs. The PTO hosts a 4th of July Fun Run that draws over 650 runners annually. They uphold long-time traditions such as, the Barn Dance, Scholastic Bookfairs, and Santa's Breakfast. The PTO also provides each teacher with a classroom grant to purchase requested supplies. Community organizations provide volunteers to assist with tutoring students during WIN (What I Need) time. They also provide food for staff during Parent Teacher Conferences, assemble and deliver welcome baskets for new teachers, and purchase food for families in need, both weekly and during the holidays. Volunteer organizations also fill Christmas wish lists for the families that need a hand up. Palmer Lake Elementary School is nestled right next to the mountains in the middle of the town of Palmer Lake. The school has before and after school enrichment activities such as, chess, choir, taekwondo, K-Kids, Landsharks Running Club, and an homework club for our multi-lingual students. We have an in-school postal system that is overseen by a retired postmaster. Palmer Lake Elementary is a school that is steeped in tradition, where many students return decades later to enroll their own children.
