lity and access to quality, innovative public education programs Colorado parents and students seek. Pikes Peak Online School (PPOS) opened on September 7th, 2015, serving grades 9-12 for students who live all over the state of Colorado. We have been designated as an Alternative Education Campus school since 2018. Currently, we have 430 high school students. The student's attendance rates have gone from >90% in the last three years. The student population eligible for free/reduced lunch is 45%. Minority students are 49.2% of the student population. The number of students on IEPs is at 22%. Currently, our student data shows that the majority of our students have come to PPOS credit-deficient toward their 4-year high school graduation data. Due to this, we have several unique programs to serve our students. PPOS has 21 instructional staff, including three special education specialists, one math interventionist, one ELA interventionist, and one to serve our ELL students. Additionally, PPOS has three regional advisors, two social workers, a school psychologist, two attendance support staff, and three academic counselors. The support staff provides robust wraparound support programs designed to identify the unique needs of each student and provide the appropriate intervention to improve individual student success. PPOS offers a powerful model for an effective public education that meets the unique needs of its students and families. PPOS is an innovative program providing individualized support and enhanced accountability. The school will utilize a tailored curriculum offering, targeted instruction by experienced teachers, extended support services, rigorous student expectations, and community partnerships to boost student achievement. The end result will be a high-quality, innovative, and effective virtual education not offered by any other school in the state. Our curriculum offerings include both standard-level high school courses, as well as a full catalog of credit recovery offerings. The PPOS UIP was developed using a data-driven process in collaboration with the PPOS staff, the K12 school leadership team, the School Accountability Committee, and Education ReEnvisioned. The planning process includes an analysis of Spring 2025 benchmark and curricular data, leading us toward implementation of improvement strategies for the 2025-2026 year. As we start the fall, school leaders and staff analyzed data from the fall semester to include: STAR 360 Reading and Math data, student writing samples, and internal curricular data. Priority Performance challenge areas were identified at this time. Staff participated in a root cause analysis and verification process (led by school leadership) as well as the identification of needed action steps within school-wide improvement strategies. The school leadership team finalized the first draft of the UIP during the month of August to be submitted to Education ReEnvisioned.
