Springs Studio for Academic Excellence is a 6th-12th-grade public school in District 49 that is in its 15th year of existence, serving approximately 440-450 students. Springs Studio is a multi-district online school that utilizes a blended-learning model that includes project-based learning opportunities, on-campus direct instruction, online curriculum content, and a focus on positive social interaction with peers. all over the state of Colorado and can provide full virtual opportunities for students who have a particular need for a full virtual model. We prioritize our blended learning model for enrollment because we feel that it meets most students? needs the best. Over 95% of our students participate in our blended learning model, which combines asynchronous online instruction with face-to-face teacher instruction. Our students attend in-building classes two days per week and work remotely online the other three days per week. Students who need additional support are invited in for interventions with their teachers on Fridays. Springs Studio for Academic Excellence is an academically rigorous school with a unique focus on preparing students for college and career opportunities. All of our teachers are licensed through the Colorado Department of Education and are content area experts. They believe that all students can learn and that parents are true partners in their students? education. Springs Studio received a Performance Rating on the most recent 3-year School Performance Rating Evaluation from the Colorado Department of Education and boasts a 100% graduation rate. Our high school graduates have attended a variety of postsecondary options, including several prestigious four-year universities such as the United States Naval Academy, Colorado School of Mines, and the University of California-Berkeley. Springs Studio has many special program opportunities for students to participate in while attending our school. One program is called our High Performance Program for high-level athletes who train and compete in a variety of sports outside of school. This program provides support and flexibility to help students balance their academic and athletic priorities. Springs Studio also has a partnership with Pikes Peak State College, in which students can take college classes right on our campus, as well as participate in a program called Career Start to earn college credits for free. We also have opportunities for students to learn how to fly and build airplanes through a partnership with AeroLab. Students have opportunities to participate in CTE courses such as Robotics, Engineering, Culinary, and Construction, to name a few. Springs Studio is unique in how we offer individualized pathway advising for students to determine their interests and passions, and we have opportunities for them to participate in job shadows, internships, and work site visits with a variety of businesses and organizations.
