About Berry Creek Middle School (0793)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Berry Creek Middle School

2025-2026

Berry Creek Middle School serves approximately 200 students in grades 6-8. Our demographics are 84% minority, 75% ELL, 67% Free and Reduced, 18% special education and 12% gifted and talented. 72% of our students are on some type of an individual learning/language plan. This year we have a staff of 19 certified staff and 2 full-time paraprofessionals and 2 counselors. The majority of our staff have been educators for over 10 years. BCMS provides creative and student-centered programming that incl… udes topic study, individualized classes, dual language, specials offerings and cross-grade level classes in addition to the traditional core curriculum. Our Master schedule is developed around student needs and provides access to grade level content for all students, with appropriate interventions and extensions provided as appropriate. Berry Creek Middle School was awarded the distinction of a Center of Excellence due in large part to the responsive programming delivered by highly effective staff. Our priority performance challenges this year are in the areas of ELA and Math. These have been selected because while we?re making and continuing to make progress in both areas, we are still below the district average specifically with our Students with Disabilities population. Because we have a large population of students on learning/language plans and/or free and reduced lunch status, our Major Improvement Strategies center around responsive instructional strategies, engagement and developing independent learners. In the 2024-25 school year we stayed at the Performance Plan level for our School Performance Framework. We decreased by one point from the previous year due to dropping to Met from Exceeds for English Language Learner growth. We increased slightly in achievement in both ELA and Math.
