GVMS saw a decline in Academic Achievement and Academic Growth as a result of the cumulative decline in attendance for both staff and students which decreased learning opportunities during the COVID 19 Pandemic. During the pandemic we implemented a new core curriculum (Reveal Math) in efforts to increase student achievement and growth. An implementation dip was expected with the new curriculum. rience "implementation dips" as they move forward (Leading in a Culture of Change, Fullan, 2007). The implementation dip is literally a dip in performance and confidence as one encounters an innovation that requires new skills and new understandings. In addition to implementing new curriculum, GVMS and Garfield16 partnered for a 3 year commitment with Marzano Academies to implement Personalized Competency-Based Education. Our goal in partnering with Marzano Academies was and is to increase teacher effectiveness and student achievement. Research has been clear that it takes a sustained investment of time to change instruction and improve classroom outcomes. Through the implementation of the new curriculum and in partnership with Marzano Academies, we project scores for both achievement and growth to increase. This dip, coupled with the chaos of the Covid 19 pandemic are root causes in the decreases observed in our 2022 School Performance Framework.
