We have spent the last two and a half years working to keep students in school with the majority of our time focused on following CDC health guidelines. We understand that some of these guidelines go against long standing best practices for the academic success of students. As we come out of the COVID era we begin to once again ask the question, ''are we really doing what is best for kids?'' As lifelong learners the staff of GVHS believes that there is always room for improvement. What can we do…
to get just one more click? The 2022-2023 school year will be dedicated to bringing back best instructional strategies and a focus on creating a culture that values knowledge, experiences, and relationships to positively impact our community. While the AP curriculum creates a backbone for the content that needs to be taught to our students. The data shows that students? success rate is significantly increased just with the exposure to AP curriculum. Now that we have settled on the best curriculum, the next focus is instructional strategies and authentic, purposeful interventions through our Response to Intervention Process. To do this our school will be focusing on and engaging in professional development throughout the year based on the ?The New Art and Science of Teaching.? Our two school wide goals are ?Safe, Orderly, and Supportive Schools? and ?Instruction and Teacher Development.
