Piñon Valley Elementary, located in Cheyenne Mountain School District 12, is a high performing school that emphasizes the importance of a strong educational foundation for its students. With an enrollment of 329 students, the school fosters a welcoming climate where staff and parents work collaboratively to create an enriching learning environment. We have a shared partnership with our DAAC and SAAC members. Our community consists of a variety of backgrounds, which enriches our learning environm… ent and fosters inclusivity. With an attendance rate of 94.5%, students demonstrate their commitment to education, 22% of our population benefits from free and reduced lunch programs, highlighting our dedication to supporting every learner. Additionally, 5.2% of students have a 504 Plan, ensuring that those with specific needs receive the necessary accommodations to support learning. 12% of students are on Advanced Learning Plans. Students with Individual Education Plans contribute 16% and 2% of students have limited English skills that further emphasizes our diversity, as we work together to create a welcoming space for all. Together, we embrace these differences, fostering an environment where every student can succeed.The community at Piñon Valley is deeply committed to supporting decision-making processes that benefit the students, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities needed to thrive. This united effort promotes not only academic success but also the personal growth of each child, preparing them for future challenges and achievements. The development of our educational improvement plan begins each year in early Fall, when we analyze data that has become available. This data is essential for identifying our Priority Performance Challenges, which are the key areas where we need to focus our efforts to enhance student achievement and growth. Once these challenges are recognized, various stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, and community members, come together to identify the Root Causes behind the concerning trends revealed in the data. By understanding these underlying issues, we can implement effective strategies or continue successful ones aimed at addressing these challenges. This collaborative effort ensures that our approach is informed, targeted, and aligned with the needs of our students, ultimately driving better educational outcomes.
