Gunnison Elementary School serves approximately 560 students in grades PK?5 in the Gunnison Watershed School District. Our school community is proud of its diversity: about 45% of students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, 36% are identified as minority students, 23% are multilingual learners, and 9% receive special education services. gh-quality Tier 1 instruction in literacy and math, culturally and linguistically responsive practices, and strong systems of support for students on READ Plans, multilingual learners, and students with disabilities. In addition to rigorous academics, GES offers enrichment opportunities that connect students to the unique resources of the Gunnison Valley. Through partnerships with local organizations, students participate in outdoor education experiences at the Rocky Mountain Biological Lab, Ski and Skate for PE, Bike to School events, and other community-based learning opportunities. Our schoolwide culture is built around Mustang PRIDE (Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Duty, Excellence), which guides expectations for learning and behavior.
