About Meadow Community School (0502)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Meadow Community School

2025-2026

School Information: Meadow Community School is in Mapleton Public Schools. Meadow is located in an urban community north of Denver with approximately 457 students in grades Preschool through 8th grade. Mapleton Public Schools is a;school of choice district; therefore, parents choose a school that offers a design and configuration that meets the needs and interests of their children. Mission Statement: Meadow Community School is a dynamic and inclusive Preschool-8th grade learning environment com… mitted to the belief that the future success of our students comes from a supportive sense of community built upon strong relationships, rigorous academic expectations, and personalized educational opportunities. Vision Statement: From their years at Meadow, students will confidently demonstrate academic success by establishing and exhibiting high expectations and those essential habits of heart and mind. This will result in our students being productive citizens in all communities in which they live and play an active role. Meadow will continue to revise and update the mission and vision as to align with schoolwide goals/initiatives. Purpose Statement: At Meadow we will provide high quality, rigorous instruction in a culturally responsive, inquiry based learning environment. Our staff leads through collective efficacy, relentless pursuit of student achievement and compassion for our students, their families, and our community. Our community is committed to the underserved and historically marginalized, while attending to the achievement of all students. Our staff is committed to the achievement of all students. Project Lift School: Meadow is part of the University Virginia's Project LIFT. A multiyear district turnaround effort. The University of Virginia Core Partnership focuses on practices and processes that create systemic and sustainable success. We strongly believe the most successful organizational transformation occurs fundamentally with four levers: 1: Leadership: Leadership has the capacity and willingness to do what is necessary to drive transformational district and school work - and has the bandwidth to do this work now. 2. Differentiated Support and Accountability: The district has the infrastructure to provide both necessary and differentiated support, accountability and flexibility to the partner schools. 3. Instructional Infrastructure: An effective instructional infrastructure exists or can be created, including valid assessments, effective curriculum and instructional strategies and responsive data systems. 4. Talent Management: District is establishing conditions to increase the number and impact of highly effective teachers in high needs schools and is willing to implement rigorous and prioritized hiring of school leaders in high needs schools. Meadow is Part of Mapleton's MEET pilot model inspired by Arizona State University?s Next Education Workforce, Mapleton?s Educator Empowerment Teams (MEET) allow teachers to work in teams to lean into their strengths. In this team-teaching model, teachers work together with large groups of students. This ensures students get what they need when they need it from a team of educators with distributed expertise. Team-based staff models in schools have been proven to better meet the needs of students by offering deeper and more personalized instruction.  This model is redesigning staffing and instruction in some Mapleton schools with the following goals in mind: Provide all students with deeper and personalized learning by building teams of educators with distributed expertise. Empower educators by developing better ways to enter the profession, specialize, and advance.  Accountability Status: Improvement Plan with 48.5% of total points earned.
