La Junta Jr/Sr High School is the place to be! Students are nurtured to clearly communicate, to take responsibility, and to adapt through a comprehensive education that prepares them for post-secondary education, military, and/or workforce readiness. We aim to empower students and adults to lead lives of purpose and impact by fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and forever learning. Our collaborative approach ensures that everyone feels valued and supported in our shared journey to succes… s. As a La Junta Jr/Sr High School student, I am engaged and supported in a safe environment through lifelong, meaningful learning experiences that prepare me for a healthy future as a productive member of my community. Our AG department offers hands?on, technical, and/or trade?based learning. While our Fine Arts and Drama departments provide professional?level theater experiences, with opportunities to act, direct, build sets, and perform in musical productions. We offer a full range of special education services, partnering with Santa Fe Trail BOCES to ensure that our students with differing needs have support. Students at La Junta Jr/Sr High School have earned recognition through the College Board National Recognition Program, highlighting their academic achievement and leadership - ensuring that high?achieving students have pathways for recognition and acceleration. We also have a strong Booster club that supports athletics and helps to provide resources for students in sports and activities. Even though test proficiency in certain areas is challenging, our graduation rate is above 95%, showing many students are completing their education successfully.
