A MESSAGE FROM:

Roosevelt Middle School

2025-2026

Roosevelt Middle School (RMS), home of the Mustangs, is a grades 6-8 school serving the Weld RE-5J School District in Johnstown, Colorado. Our core mission is to empower, challenge, and inspire students to learn, achieve, and excel, fostering a safe and welcoming environment that promotes risk-taking, critical thinking, and the development of strong citizenship skills. Programmatic Focus and Modern Facilities RMS operates on a modified block schedule, which includes dedicated periods for core ac… ademics alongside ?Connection Time? ?a structured opportunity for individualized support, academic intervention, and social-emotional growth. The instructional program continues the development of foundational skills in reading, oral and written communication, and mathematics while broadening educational opportunities. Our school recently underwent a significant renovation and construction project, transforming the campus into a modern facility specifically designed to support century learning. This revitalization effort emphasized the expansion and integration of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. These high-visibility, hands-on learning spaces are integral to the middle school experience, allowing students to discover diverse career pathways early and aligning directly with the high school?s robust career pathway offerings. RMS provides comprehensive support for all learners through a continuum of specialized services, including robust Special Education programs with both Resource Support and Center-Based services, as well as dedicated support for our Multilingual Learners (ML), ensuring meaningful participation in grade-level curriculum. Beyond the classroom, we encourage student involvement through a wide array of athletics and extracurricular activities, promoting physical fitness, social development, and community engagement. RMS is dedicated to ensuring every student exits the middle level prepared for post-secondary success by emphasizing academic rigor, personal exploration, and wellness.
