About Bayfield Intermediate School (0632)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Bayfield Intermediate School

2024-2025

The Bayfield School District is located in the southwest corner of Colorado. As of October 2024, the District preliminary counts show a total enrollment of 1222 students in kindergarten through twelfth (K-12) grade who attend Bayfield Primary School (K-2), Bayfield Intermediate School (3-5), Bayfield Middle School (6-8), or Bayfield High School (9-12). The total student population is 74% White, 14% Hispanic, and 9.2% Native American. 3.5% of students qualify for multilingual learner support. Att… endance rate for 2022-2023 was 90.9% with a dropout rate of 0.7% and a 92% 4-year graduation rate. Student to teacher ratio is 12:1. Free and Reduced Lunch eligible students makeup 39.4% of the district student population in 2023-2024. The district's chronically absent rate is 35.8% for 2023-2024. Three schools are designated with Performance plan type on respective School Performance Frameworks and meet 95% assessment participation. Bayfield MIddle School is a Priority Improvement school in the 2024 school performance frameworks due to less than 95% participation rate. Initial review of Student Biographical Data leads us to believe there were errors in our SBD that will justify a request to reconsider that could result in a change of rating for BMS to Improvement status. Bayfield Primary and Intermediate Schools share Title I-A and READ Act funds to purchase the services of reading/math interventionists in a targeted assistance model. Stakeholder engagement in the UIP occurs through (1) multiple teacher/principal meetings at each school to review, analyze and interpret CMAS and NWEA MAP, Acadience, and local assessment data; (2) quarterly principal/superintendent meetings to document highs and lows in student achievement and growth across schools; (3) multiple school and district accountability committee meetings throughout the year, and (4) school board meetings. Meeting minutes document the process at each level.
