Sheridan High School is one of five schools located in Sheridan School District and is the only comprehensive high school. Sheridan High School serves approximately 280 students in grades 9-12. The racial demographics of the school are 80.6% Latinx, 10.6% White, 4% African American, and 5% other. One of the most significant factors impacting our student population is poverty, with approximately 86.2% of our student population being eligible for free and/or reduced lunch. The instructional impact… s of Sheridan High School include 14.3% of our student population qualifying for special education services, 25% of our population qualifies for ELD services, and 5.9% of our student population qualifies for gifted and talented services. Sheridan High School: Commitment to Student Success Sheridan High School is a small school that provides robust opportunities for students to thrive beyond graduation. We are committed to maintaining programming and systems that uphold high expectations and prepare all students for success in their chosen postsecondary pathways. Through strategic partnerships with organizations such as the Colorado Education Initiative, Arapahoe Community College, College Track, Trades Unions, Advanced Placement (AP), and several others, Sheridan High School offers extensive professional development for staff and expanded academic and career opportunities for students. We take great pride in the linguistic diversity of our student body. Over 20% of our graduates earn the Seal of Biliteracy, a distinction that recognizes proficiency in multiple languages and reflects our community?s cultural strengths. Sheridan High School is dedicated to Career and College Readiness for all students. This mission is supported through trades programming, Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAP), and concurrent enrollment opportunities, which provide students with practical skills, clear academic pathways, and access to college-level coursework while still in high school. In addition to academic preparation, Sheridan High School prioritizes the mental health and behavioral well-being of students. We implement building-wide restorative practices and offer comprehensive mental health services for students, staff, and families to ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. We believe that the more we understand our students, the better we can align our systems to meet their individual needs. By combining strong academic programming with comprehensive supports, Sheridan High School ensures that each student is positioned to reach their highest potential.
