About Ayres Elementary School (0515)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Ayres Elementary School

2025-2026

Ayres Elementary School serves students in kindergarten, first and second grades. Ayres is a Title I school serving a high population of low socioeconomic status families with an increasing number of ELL students enrolling, although the overall percentage of students in this population is still relatively low. Research-based curricula is utilized for universal instruction and small groups and includes: HMH's Into Reading, which supports the science of reading, Math Expressions, Heggerty, and Rea… lly Great Reading's Countdown, Blast, and HD Word. Lexia CORE5 and ST Math, along with BEAST Academy for our higher learners, are additional strong supports. Students have daily rotations that include physical education, music, read aloud, library, art, Capturing Kids' Hearts lessons, and Smart/Stem Lab. Our Social Emotional Learning is embedded in classrooms and includes tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 supports through our SEL specialist, depending on the needs of students identified through our Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). The district Gifted/Talented specialist, along with our building level GT teacher, provide support for teachers and students that include resources, weekly enrichment lessons, and monthly PETS lessons. Students who qualify for special education services are provided services through both pull out and push in models of teaching and learning by highly qualified staff. All Ayres students also have a dedicated 30 minutes daily for What I Need time (WIN) where focus for all students is narrowed to their highest literacy needs, from below grade level learners all the way up to students who need advanced learning opportunities. Ayres partners with the on-campus Affective Needs Program to provide high level supports to a small percentage of students. With the end goal of closing achievement gaps and increasing growth and development of all students, Ayres has been focused on building a strong foundation of streamlined systems of support for both students and staff, including a collaborative approach to create equity across grade levels, involving building the capacity of teachers, examining data and using it to drive instruction, professional development to support this goal, and providing an array of supports to meet the needs of our diverse population.
