About Centennial Elementary School (1385)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Centennial Elementary School

2024-2025

Centennial Elementary is a neighborhood school located in the northwest part of Loveland, Colorado. The neighborhood includes some well-established subdivisions as well as an increase in rental properties. The current enrollment as of October 1, 2024 is 300 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, and 30 students in our Early Childhood program. School demographics for Kindergarten through 5th grade include 70% White, 20% Hispanic, 0.5% two or more Races, 0.3% Asian, 0.2% Native Hawaiian or Ot… her Pacific Islander, and less than 0.1% Black and/or African American. Other demographic information for our Centennial population include the following: 5% Multi-Lingual Learners, 6% identified Gifted, 16% identified with a Disability, and 19% of students are on a READ plan. The 2022-2023 attendance rate was 94%. Centennial is home to two Affective Learning Center programs. These two programs meet the needs of 5% of our student population. Over the past three years we have hosted two Affective Learning Centers (ALC). These programs provide services for students that are on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and have significant needs. Each ALC program is staffed with one Special Education teacher and three paraprofessionals. In addition, these programs have a full-time Social Worker which provides mental health support. Both of these programs are self-contained classrooms. When possible and in compliance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), students integrate into the general education classrooms. In addition to these two programs we have 10% of our students that have other special education needs. To support these student needs we have a Learning Center (LC) Special Education teacher, full-time Learning Center aide, part-time Speech Language Pathologist, and part-time Occupational Therapist. We continue to shift from pull-out practices to a more inclusive learning environment in our primary classrooms where the LC teacher and LC aides support student needs with an inclusion model. We have a blended continuum of co-teaching classrooms to pull-out services. Overall, Centennial student enrollment has decreased to 300 students this year (2024-2025). Parents are highly involved in the Centennial community and there continues to be a growing Parent Teacher Association (PTA). In the year 2024 we have 92 PTA members. Teachers are very engaged in professional development in order to continue to meet their students? needs and to learn new research-based practices. In celebration, Centennial was awarded the Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award for 2016-2017, 2017-2018, and named as one of America's Healthiest Schools by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation in the fall of 2024.
