Parent Refusals Won’t Result in Lowered Accreditation or School Rating
The state board of education adopted a motion to not hold districts liable for the decisions of parents who do not allow their children to take state tests in English language arts and math.  The motion is effective immediately.  Read Commissioner Hammond’s letter.

Submit a Question for the State Board of Education Study Session on Assessment Data Collection
On Thursday, March 12, the state board of education will conduct a study session concerning assessments and related data collection.  CDE staff along with representatives from Pearson will provide a brief presentation and respond to questions from the board and pre-submitted questions from the public. Questions can be submitted through Monday, March 2.
