State Board directs continuation of plan for Aurora Central High School
The board directed Aurora Public Schools to continue implementing the innovation plan for improving student outcomes at Aurora Central. Although the school has received low ratings in the accountability system for nine consecutive years, it has made gains in graduation and attendance rates.
Runaway and Homeless Youth Awareness Month
Gov. Polis proclaimed November as Runaway and Homeless Awareness Month in Colorado. The state will continue all efforts to lower the rate of youth homelessness and ensure every young person has access to a quality education.
Since 2008, the Building Excellent Schools Today grant program has awarded approximately $2.5 billion in grants to more than 525 Colorado schools, improving health, safety and security for nearly 300,000 students.
