A branch of CDE, the Division of Capital Construction has developed a series of programs and resources for capital construction funding as well as technical assistance for school districts, traditional public schools, charter schools, BOCES, and the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind.
The Capital Construction Assistance Board (CCAB) special meeting to review emergency grants to resolve ventilation and filtration issues in occupied school facilities related to the COVID-19 pandemic was held on June 3, 2021. The board voted to approve the recommended list which will now be considered by the State Board of Education on June 9, 2021.

Opportunities and Announcements:
- The next CCAB meeting will be held on August 19-20th. Location and details TBA.
- The annual meeting of the CCAB to review FY21-22 Building Excellent Schools Today grant requests was held May 19-21, 2021. The recommended list of projects will now move on to the State Board of Education and the Capital Development Committee for final approval.

Since 2008 BEST has awarded approximately $2.5 billion in grants to more than 525 Colorado schools, improving health, safety and security for nearly 300,000 students.
With funding from The Colorado State Land Board, Colorado Lottery, marijuana excise tax, and local matching dollars, BEST continues to improve Colorado's educational environments through capital construction projects helping schools to realize CDE's vision that "All students graduate ready for college and careers, and are prepared to be productive citizens of Colorado."
