ARP ESSER III Countdown to Closeout
- Submit Request for Funds!
- Check remaining balance on the State and Federal Grant Distribution Reports.
- Ensure the LEA’s Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan has been reviewed and updated (if needed), every 6 months and posted to the LEA’s website through September 30, 2024. Check to see if your LEA’s plan is linked on CDE’s List of LEA Plans website.
- Ensure the LEA’s ARP-ESSER III Use of Funds Plan is posted to the district’s website through September 30, 2024. Check to see if your LEA’s plan is linked on CDE’s List of LEA Plans website.
- Ensure activities and costs in the application reflect activities implemented or to be implemented by September 30, 2024 or any costs that are obligated or are to be obligated by September 30, 2024.
- Reporting - By October 30, 2024
- Submit student participation in summer school, afterschool, extended learning opportunities, high-dosage intensive tutoring, full-service community schools, early childhood education, and educational technology use for the 2023-2024 school year; that data will be reported in the LEA Participation Survey.
- Track student participation in any summer school, afterschool, extended learning opportunities, high-dosage intensive tutoring, full-service community schools, early childhood education, and educational technology use activities between July 1, 2024 through September 30, 2024, using one of the templates on the ESSER Grantee/Subgrantee Reporting webpage.
- Begin to prepare LEA’s ESSER III Close-out Report - submit when ready!
Do Monthly:
- Request for Funds - Monthly until November 15, 2024
- LEAs must request reimbursement after an obligated activity has been implemented and paid by submitting a Request for Funds (RFF) on a monthly basis.
- Ensure that LEA does not have any remaining funds to be requested. View grant balances on the State and Federal Grant Distribution Reports.

- Submit any Final Application Revisions
- Ensure ARP-ESSER III application accurately reflects the activities that have been implemented and the costs incurred. Submit Post-Award Revisions (PARs) if changes are needed.
- Ensure the LEA’s 20% Learning Loss Set-Aside is met, submit a PAR if needed.
- Plan Requirements - Until September 30, 2024

- Obligation of Funds - By September 30, 2024
- All funds must be obligated by September 30, 2024! Obligation means that activities have been implemented or there is a commitment (e.g., an executed contract) in place. See the obligation timetable for when an obligation occurs.
- Review application to ensure that activities have been or can be implemented or there is a commitment to pay.
- If approved activities have changed or cannot be obligated prior to the deadline, submit a Post-Award Revision.

- All grantees and subgrantees that have a renovation, major remodeling, construction, or real property project of $1 million or more in funds from these programs must record all Notice of Federal Interest (NFI) by January 28, 2025.
