While a lot of research and practice guidance exists for entry-level algebra topics, less is available for systems of equations, which comes later. The Colorado Academic Standards place the learning of systems of equations in both 8th grade and at high school, but the progression of curriculum and learning isn't necessarily clear. This research and practice guide attempts to explain the standards and lay out a possible curricular progression that emphasizes multiple representations and building conceptual understanding.
