Disproportionate Discipline Task Force

Task force – Disproportionate Discipline
The School Discipline Task Force was created as part of the 2023 legislative session (S.B.23-029) to study and make recommendations regarding school district discipline policies and practices, State and Local discipline reporting requirements, and local engagement.

The bill requires that 18 task force members (as further defined in the bill) be appointed on or before September 30, 2023.

And that on or before October 15, the Commissioner, or the Commissioner’s Designee call the first meeting of the task force.

The task force meets at least six times between October 15, 2023, and the first review committee meeting in 2024.

A final report is due by August 1, 2024.
