Colorado's PARCC Educator Leader Cadre

Colorado Educator Leader Cadre (ELC) was initiated in August 2012 as part of an initiative from the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC). Through face-to-face meetings and virtual convenings, the ELCs share practices regarding implementation of the Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) in mathematics and reading, writing, and communicating, advance statewide understanding of the PARCC materials, and actively lead local implementation efforts. The ultimate goal of the Colorado ELC has been to develop a network of educators that can help support the implementation of the CAS and PARCC in Colorado that can lay the groundwork for sharing best practices and quality resources.

Resources

The first of the resources created by the Colorado ELC are professional learning modules for the PARCC English/language arts (ELA) and mathematics assessments.

English/language arts Modules

Four connected modules which illustrate how the design of the Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) in reading, writing, and communicating and the PARCC English/language arts assessments work together to support rigorous and relevant instructional practice. All four modules can be used by teachers K-12 as well as by specialists, coaches and administrators.

Mathematics Modules

Two modules which illustrate how the design of the Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) in Mathematics and the PARCC Mathemtaics assessments work together to support rigorous and relevant instructional practice. Module 1 can be used by teachers K-12 as well as by specialists, coaches and administrators. Module 2 is available in three versions specific to the grade spans 3-5, 6-8, and high school.
