Online Schools and Programs

In Colorado an online school is defined as ..."a full-time education school. . . that delivers a sequential program of synchronous or asynchronous instruction directed by a teacher, primarily through online digital learning strategies that provide students choice over time, place, and path, and teacher-guided modality of learning."

The multi-district online schools, single-district online schools, and single-district programs listed below offer full-time online education programs and are authorized by a Colorado school district, BOCES, or the Charter School Institute, all of which are accredited by the State of Colorado. Multi-district online schools may accept students from across the state of Colorado, regardless of their home school district. Single-district online schools and programs serve students only from the authorizing district.

Summary:  Peyton Online Academy (POA) is a tuition-free, diploma-granting online school that uses an individualized approach to learning so students succeed at the highest academic level possible as they prepare for their future.  POA courses are self-paced and available 24-7.  While POA students are free to work from their home or other internet access point, POA has a local Connection Center for students to connect with staff and other students.  Students who need more individualized help can receive face to face support with certified teachers via appointments.  Additional assistance from teachers is available through internet chats, video conferencing, and/or email.  Opportunities are provided for students to attend classes and participate in extracurricular activities at our brick-and-mortar school as well.
