The Chinese government is systematically persecuting Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities on the basis of their religion and ethnicity. The Council of Europe was very heavily involved in co-operation with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The teaching of national histories in secondary schools in South Eastern Europe and history curricula development were the topics of seminars held in Sarajevo in 2002. The next step was to provide support for educators and the development of a manual on teaching Bosnia and Herzegovina.

CHGS resource guides contextualize for educational purposes specific cases of genocide and incidents of mass violence. They are written by expert PhD candidates and scholars from various fields. Each provides a basic overview and includes events that led up to the violence, local and international responses, information on key actors, important terminology, and other relevant source materials.

GenEd is a nonprofit organization assisting educators in teaching about human rights and genocide, particularly the Armenian Genocide, as the predecessor of the pattern of genocides that followed. GenEd develops instructional materials and provides workshops, consultation and presentations.

This lesson looks at various international organizations and sovereign states and their action or inaction during the Rwandan Genocide. Students, in groups, analyze primary and secondary source documents and determine what, if any, responsibility or blame should be assigned to the various parties.
