Ready, Set, Go, Review: Screening for Behavioral Health Risk in Schools
About This Resource
Ready, Set, Go, Review: Screening for Behavioral Health Risk in Schools is a toolkit published by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in 2019. It is designed to guide schools and districts through the process of developing and implementing comprehensive behavioral health screening programs. The toolkit covers four phases — Ready, Set, Go, and Review — addressing infrastructure planning, screening tool selection, implementation best practices, stakeholder engagement, legal and ethical considerations, and ongoing progress monitoring. It is intended for use within a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework and includes examples from school districts across the country.
