2020-21 free and reduced price meal income guidelines released
CDE has released the eligibility guidelines for children unable to pay the full price served in schools under the National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program and/or the Special Milk Program.

State Board of Education to apply for funding for ‘remote learning collectives’

State Board of Education approves statewide waivers
At its regular meeting this month, the board approved four statewide waivers necessary due to the disruptions caused by the pandemic. Commissioner of Education Katy Anthes also provided updates on CDE's response to COVID-19.

According to the statewide survey, the majority of educators believe their school is a good place to work and a beneficial place for students to learn. However, the biggest obstacle for teachers remains lack of preparation time.

Colorado schools say they need more help developing effective online instruction, providing students computer hardware and access to the Internet, and supporting students who are suffering from stress-related to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a statewide needs inventory conducted.

Colorado plans to offer seniors free SAT tests on a school day next fall
Colorado 12th graders would be able to take the SAT test on a school day next fall for no cost under an agreement the Colorado Department of Education is pursuing with the College Board, the organization that administers the test.
