Charter School Technical Assistance Events

Thank you for visiting our events page. We are pleased that you have an interest in the events that the Schools of Choice unit are offering this year! The Schools of Choice unit provides a variety of quality technical assistance and professional development opportunities to all charter schools in the state of Colorado. These events are meant to provide best practices for charter school operations, analyze charter school trends, and identify areas of growth and provide solutions to charter school practitioners.  Receive optimal support, as it is our goal to help create successful and sustainable charter schools. We hope to see you at one of our events!

*Please note CCSP Grant recipients must participate in technical assistance events offered by the Schools of Choice Division as a prerequisite for grant funding.*

Many organizations have supporting webinars and resources for the charter community. The Schools of Choice Unit acknowledges that there is a need for charter specific guidance and therefore, we have compiled events below from various organizations that have offered support. March Events

March Authorizer's Summit

Date: Friday, March 5th (held at the Colorado League of Charter Schools Annual Conference)
Time: 11:00am - 3:00pm
Details: Charter school authorizers are invited to join our quarterly Authorizer Meetings. These meetings are held virtually in collaboration with the Colorado Association of Charter School Authorizers (CACSA). Join us on March 5th to hear programming updates from CDE, collaborate with other districts and authorizers, and learn innovative initiatives to improve your authorizing practices.
 

Topic Based Webinar: Antiracist Strategies to Disrupt Racial Inequities in Charter Schools (Part 2)

Date: Tuesday, March 9th

Details: Join us for the fourth Topic-Based Webinar of the 2020-2021 school year where Aaron Green, Social Work Consultant and Trainer, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aaron Ross Green LLC will provide tools for implementing social change in your school programming.
 

Administrator Mentoring Cohort

Date: Wednesday, March 10th
Time: 9:00am - 2:30pm
Details: The Administrator Mentoring Cohort (AMC) is designed to build leadership capacity among new charter school administrators and those aspiring to be charter school administrators. Building administrators’ skills and capacity positively affects teachers, school culture, school operations, and ultimately student achievement. This program also helps ease feelings of isolation among new leaders by providing a peer network, while enabling mature leaders to develop their mentoring skills. We welcome all of Colorado’s charter school leaders!
 

Equal Access Series: Identifying and Addressing Enrollment Barriers to Multi-lingual Families

Date: Wednesday, March 10th

Details: Join us for the second installment of the Equal Access Series brought to you by the Charter School Institute in conjunction with the Schools of Choice Unit on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021. In this series, the Charter School Institute will provide best practices and strategies to serve multi-lingual learners. This session will focus on identifying and addressing Enrollment Barriers to Multi-lingual Families. 
 

Equal Access Series: ELD Implementation and Program Evaluation

Date: Wednesday, March 17th
Time: 10:00am - 11:00am
Details: Join us for the third installment of the Equal Access Series brought to you by the Charter School Institute in conjunction with the Schools of Choice Unit on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021. In this series, the Charter School Institute will provide best practices and strategies to serve multi-lingual learners. This session will focus on ELD Implementation and Program Evaluation.
 

CCSP Sub-grantee Conference Call

Date: Thursday, March 18th
Time: 10:00am - 11:00am
Details: This almost quarterly convening is offered as a convenient opportunity to check-in with the CCSP grant team and fellow grant recipient peers. The hour is dedicated towards having an interactive discussion of current events & issues, answering questions raised by the group, and receiving guidance and reminders on various grant management practices from representatives from the CDE Schools of Choice and Grants Fiscal Management Units. Calls will be held virtually and possibly recorded; sending discussion topics and questions in advance is most welcome.
