New Director Training

  • New directors are invited to join informal, peer-to-peer virtual learning cohorts for new food service directors. The next meeting will take place in spring 2024. Learning sessions aim to provide a collaborative environment for new directors to enhance their skills, share their experiences and cultivate a deeper understanding of their role. New directors will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with Advisory Council representatives, School Nutrition staff and other new directors, exchange best practices and tackle common challenges.
  • Complete the new director training course. This course provides new directors will knowledge, tools and resources to begin implementing child nutrition programs.
  • The School Nutrition Unit offers online, in-person and webinar training to increase school nutrition professionals' skills and knowledge in operating child nutrition programs. These trainings provide USDA Professional Standards hours and count as Continuing Education Units (CEU) for the School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Credential. Use the Professional Standards training tracker to document participation in continuing education opportunities.
