Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with Licensure

The professional core (aka junior and senior year) is four semesters long and can be completed in 16 months.  Semester one includes content and methods courses and 60 clock hours of field-based experiences.  Semester two includes content and methods courses and 70 clock hours of field-based experiences.  Semester three includes content and methods courses only.  The final semester includes 640 clock hours of full-time student teaching practicum with no content or methods courses.

Field experiences occur in real classrooms in the student's community where they will be supported by experienced, licensed mentor teachers and highly trained CCU field coaches who are also licensed educators.  Being an online program, we have developed a suite of technology-enabled field observation protocols that allow the student to engage with the CCU field coach from anywhere in the world where there is an internet connection and a computer.
