Early Learners
The Colorado State Library is a division of the Colorado Department of Education.
The Colorado State Library (CSL) helps libraries, schools, museums, and other organizations improve services, making it easier for all Coloradans to access and use the materials and information they need for lifelong learning.
Early Learning and Literacy in Libraries
CSL’s early literacy team supports the education (and wellbeing) of children, teens and families by coordinating statewide initiatives for early literacy, summer learning, outdoor experiences, and other campaigns.
Literacy and Youth Services
CSL’s Literacy and Youth Services team offers extensive resources to support youth services in Colorado’s libraries, from infant story time to teen literature groups, as well as opportunities to join professional groups to connect with youth services staff in libraries around Colorado.
Professional Development Resources
Professional development opportunities specific to early literacy services include webinars, workshops, and toolkits, empowering library staff to promote and expand early literacy in Colorado’s communities.
