Partnering for Purpose: Capstones, 4-5:30pm

Event Date and Time

Thursday, January 22, 2026 - 12:00am to 11:45pm

Description

CDE is hosting this virtual learning session drawing on the Colorado Capstone Implementation Criteria, a statewide tool developed to help districts design coherent, equitable, and authentic capstone systems.

While this session is rooted in capstone system design, the strategies apply broadly across education—especially for anyone who needs to engage community members, local organizations, families, business partners, or other stakeholders.

In this session, participants will:

  • Learn what the criteria identify as strong practices for public demonstrations of student learning and professionalism in capstone presentations.
  • Explore strategies for engaging community partners, including ways to build and sustain partnerships that support authentic, real-world learning experiences.
  • Hear insights from practitioners and partners about how schools make capstone learning visible, relevant, and connected to local priorities.

District and school leaders, capstone coordinators, counselors, teachers, work-based learning coordinators, and community partners are encouraged to join. Register for the Capstone learning session.
