The Special Milk Program (SMP) is an underutilized program that provides milk to children in public or nonprofit schools, residential child care institutions, and camps that do not participate in any other Federal child nutrition meal service program or any child at a participating school or half-day pre-kindergarten program can receive milk through the SMP. Administered by the Colorado Department of Education Office of School Nutrition, reimbursement is provided from the U.S Department of Agriculture for each half pint of milk served.

How to Apply
Schools that are interested in applying for the SMP will submit their application during the annual renewal of applications, online. During the renewal application the district will select SMP for those schools that will be participating in the SMP.
Camps and institutions that are interested in applying for the SMP need to complete the Non-Pricing Policy Statement and submit to the Colorado Department of Education Office of School Nutrition.
