December 15 Notify CDE of extended (CBT Math/ELA) or early (G11 Science) testing window and test format selections Upon completion of the CMAS Administration Training for DACs and submission of the DAC Security Agreement (through DocuSign), CDE provides official DACs the link to the form used to provide this information. If submitted by this date, CDE then indicates the selected test format in the state load of student data into PearsonAccessnext.
January 8 - 26 Confirm student registrations in PearsonAccessnext for initial orders

Must indicate/confirm:

  • Test format (CBT or PBT)
  • All accommodations and accessibility features with physical materials (e.g., auditory/signed presentation script, large print, braille, paper Spanish including CSLA)

January - Prior to Testing Submit Verification of District Training Include the dates of training completion for all individuals involved in CMAS and CoAlt administration and handling secure materials. The Verification of District Training requires the Superintendent's signature.

This is an extended window to compensate for technology capacity. Districts can open the math and ELA window as early as April 1 for online administrations.

Students with accommodated paper forms, and those taking CoAlt ELA and math (DLM), test at the same time as their peers taking online CMAS forms.

April 1 Earliest start date for grade 11 science

This is an early window, providing three total weeks of testing.

  • Early Option: April 1 - 19

April 8 - 26 Official State Testing Window All science assessments and all general use of paper-based ELA and math must be completed by April 26.

Scorable materials are used CMAS test books and CoAlt answer documents that will go through scoring.

Nonscorable materials are secure materials that will not go through scoring.

May 5 Testing Irregularity or Security Breach Report and spreadsheet due to CDE Submit through CDE Assessment Syncplicity, if applicable
May 8 Submit Post Test Compliance and Scratch Paper Verification

Include misadministrations documented on the Testing Irregularity or Security Breach documents on the Post Test Compliance. The Post Test Compliance requires the Superintendent's signature.

Indicate the status of each school's used scratch paper on the Scratch Paper Verification.

Through May 8 PearsonAccessnext Clean-up

DACs can adjust PAnext user permissions to set their own school- and district-specific clean-up windows.

May 16 - 29 (tentative) Student Biographical Data (SBD) Review Completed in Data Pipeline by Data Pipeline Respondents

*CDE will provide alternate return dates to districts that submit the need for testing beyond April 26 if secure materials are sent for individual students at schools testing online.
