Direct Facilitation of Schools
District FSCP leaders impact whether and how well schools develop sustainable FSCP programs. The following practices help district leaders identify ways they can directly support schools to integrate and elevate FSCP. Note that each practice aligns to one or more of the Six Strategies for District Leaders. Those strategies are called out in italics.
Conduct one-day workshops about FSCP.

Host FSCP PD Days. Topics may include:

P-12 FSCP Framework; and
Make monthly site visits to schools or equivalent contacts.

- Create agendas and “look for” checklists.
- See Connecticut's Welcoming Schools Initiative.
Hold periodic networking meetings for FSCP school contacts.

- Facilitate a district-led FSCP Collaborative for Schools.
- Invite non-participating school contacts to a mid-year quarterly networking meeting.
Schedule annual meetings with principals.

- Introduce principals to the School Implementation Plan.
- Host listening sessions with school principals.
Help schools evaluate programs and progress.

- Guide schools in using the P-12 FSCP Framework User’s Guide and Rubrics
- Ensure all family facing surveys are translated.
- Share data gathering templates schools can use.
- Share the School Implementation Plan.

Facilitate schools in other ways to improve their partnership programs.

- Find ideas in CDE's Promising Partnership Practices.
- Guide schools through the FSCP Trail Map for Schools.
- Encourage school leaders to set Intentional FSCP Time for Teachers.
- Designate FSCP as a Major Improvement Strategy in the school's UIP.
