Counseling MA, School Counseling Specialty Track
The School Counseling MA is a 63-credit graduate program that takes approximately three years to complete. The program prepares individuals for licensure as School Counselor in Colorado. The program is based on the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model for school counselors, which emphasizes systemic interventions to support student their academic, career, and social development. Coursework emphasizes, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the central role that education plays in children’s’ growth and development.
The program includes approximately 21/2 years of classes that include direct contact with schools, followed by 2 to 3 semesters of supervised field work during which students provide direct counseling services in clinical and educational settings.
