Masters in Counseling: School Counseling Concentration
The 64 credit school counseling concentration will prepare students to demonstrate the professional knowledge and skills necessary to promote the academic, career, and personal and social development of all PreK–12 students as licensed school counselors in the state of Colorado. Students will examine the history, philosophy and trends of school counseling while focusing on assessment, individual, group, family and career counseling and consulting. Additional attention is given to prevention and intervention strategies and programming, and ethical and legal guidelines are examined. Additionally, students complete school-based school counseling internships.
