The District Improvement Strategy Office Overview
Professional Learning for Colorado District and School Leaders
The District Improvement Strategy Office (DISO) was created in 2023 to provide district and school leaders with a 'one-stop shop' for universal support offered by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). Our team collaborates across CDE to connect you with the right content experts and create responsive structures to meet Colorado’s educational challenges - including all 178 school districts.
We leverage CDE professional learning cohorts, on-site diagnostic reviews, CDE content experts, and customized on-site support for all educational leaders to lead high quality schools and districts.
Our Mission
We connect all district and school leaders to relevant high quality professional learning and support.
Relevant Universal Support
Learning Cohorts
Cohorts gather four to eight times a year to share, learn, and problem solve educational issues with CDE experts and district/school leaders in virtual and in person settings.
Diagnostic Reviews
Experts come alongside your school or district to learn your vision, analyze current reality, and provide information to optimize your practices and systems for improvement.
Personalized District Services
Share your needs with us so we can connect you with the right support or CDE expert and create a personalized plan with recommendations.
School Safety Resources
We provide district and school safety information, training, support for the Stronger Connections Grant, and partnership across CDE and other state agencies.
