The District Improvement Strategy Office
Connecting Colorado Leaders to CDE Support
The District Improvement Strategy Office (DISO) was launched in 2023 to coordinate, align, and provide universal support for district, BOCES, and school leaders through a streamlined approach. The DISO team collaborates across CDE to link educational leaders with the right content experts and create networked and responsive structures to meet Colorado’s educational challenges and impact change for the students of Colorado.
DISO establishes and maintains various professional learning cohorts, communities of practice, on-site diagnostic reviews, and provides access to school safety support. DISO events are highly collaborative, interactive, and designed to empower all educational leaders to lead high-quality schools and districts.
Our Mission
We lead collaborative learning and inspire change management to positively impact district and school systems through the development of leadership, mindset, and skills.
Our Services
Learning Cohorts are a networked community of educational leaders who meet six to eight times a year to share, learn, and problem solve complex educational issues with CDE experts in a highly collaborative setting.
CDE team members come alongside your school or district in the Diagnostic Review process to learn your vision, analyze current reality, and provide options to optimize your practices and support next steps.
Virtual communities of practitioners in similar roles or with interest in the same topic. The emphasis in this model is on sharing resources, exploring problems of practice, and tapping into participant knowledge and expertise.
We provide district and school safety information, training, and support for the Stronger Connections Grant. We also partner with other offices across CDE and other state agencies involved in school safety efforts.
How can we support success in your district?
