Little Elementary is a K-5 neighborhood school serving approximately 342 students. Our school receives Title I funding due to the 66% of the students who are eligible for free/reduced lunch. Approximately 48% of students attending Little are minorities, 10% of students are multi-language learners, and 18% of students have a Individualized Education Plans (IEP). ur students academically, socially, emotionally, and to provide meaningful context for their learning. Little's Instructional Leadership Team, consisting of Principal, Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach, in partnership with the District Transformation Support Team, met in July 2023 to analyze initial school performance data. Little has an Academic Leadership Team consisting of two classroom teachers, a learning specialist, an instructional coach, the assistant principal, and principal. Through an analysis of the data, the following Major Improvement strategies were identified: Monitoring and strengthening the Instructional Core, Monitoring and developing a culture of Data Literacy, and Monitoring and developing a culture of high expectations for student behaviors and supports. Our school is partnering closely with the district Transformation Support Team. We meet on a monthly basis to review our progress monitoring tool and conduct classroom walkthroughs. Additionally, our Partners In Education (PIE) committee also serves as a stakeholder, consisting of families and community partners. This committee is aware of Little's Priority Improvement Rating and this team meets every other month to examine data and advise on action steps for the PM tool/UIP.
