About Brady Exploration School (0965)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Brady Exploration School

2023-2024

Brady Exploration High School, founded in 2005 as a 9-12 option school continues to adapt to meet the highest student needs and we currently serve students primarily from 9th-12th grades. Through analyzing trend data and perception data from prior years in the areas of attendance and engagement, beginning in the 2021-2022 school year Brady modified our one-of-a-kind alternative high school to offer four unique programs that best reflect daily schedules and engaging curriculum that match our stud… ents' identified needs. Beginning the current 23-24 school year, Brady was identified as a Title 1 school and provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. By the start of the 2024-2025 school year, all Brady programming will be in person. Brady will offer various programming in the near future to offer students who are credit-deficient, to retake their courses, with fidelity, and graduate from high school. Our student population demographics include: 50% Hispanic, 40% White, 55-60% economically disadvantaged, 4% gifted and talented, 16% Limited English Proficient language learners, and 9% students with disabilities. Males account for 54% of the student population and females 46%. With Brady's student population averaging 300 and staff population in the mid 30s, Brady has a low student to staff ratio enabling students to receive support by both teachers, counselors and other dedicated staff. The counseling offered at Brady includes two school level counselors, a social worker, a clinician, a graduation coach and a student engagement specialist. In addition to this support, Brady focuses first on making sure student needs, based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs, are met while also focusing on raising the bar of instructional expectations and rigor in each and every classroom. We accomplish these items by collaborating with district leaders and backed by proven best practices including but not limited to: Leverage Leadership 2.0 (Bamrick, 2010), Driven by Data (2010), and Teach Like A Champion ( Lemov, 2010).
