The Educator Effectiveness team will provide several training opportunities for district/BOCES/charter school level staff that will be using the Colorado State Model Performance Management System (COPMS) for the 2015-16 school year. These trainings are intended for district/BOCES/charter school staff new to the COPMS. Staff from districts/BOCES/charter schools currently using the COPMS are welcome to attend; however, these training opportunities are designed for beginners in the system.
Dates and locations:
All trainings are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
- August 5, Centennial BOCES, Greeley
- August 7, Pueblo County High School, Pueblo
- August 11, Morgan County School District Re-3, Fort Morgan
- August 12, Montrose County School District RE-1J, Montrose
Who should attend?
This training is intended for districts who have confirmed they plan to use the Colorado State Model Performance Management System for the 2015-16 school year. Superintendents, district/BOCES tech support staff (trainers), and HR staff are welcome to attend, along with 2 evaluators and 2 teacher leaders. Due to space constraints, we ask that districts/BOCES/charter schools bring a maximum of 6-8 people. LEAs currently using the system and have new staff, or would like a refresher, are welcome to attend as well as space permits.
Districts/BOCES/charter schools interested in learning more about the system are encouraged to preview the system by visiting the COPMS website. For those considering implementing COPMS for the 2015-2016 school year, CDE welcomes requests for a system demonstration to assist in making the decision.
To register for the training:
Before you register, please make sure your district/BOCES/charter school has informed CDE of its intent to use the Colorado State Model Performance Management System. Contact Joslyn Robich if your district/BOCES has not submitted its intent.
Then, please click here to register for any of the above training dates. Laptops are optional to bring to the training.
Registration is free, but a minimum of 10 participants is required for each training or the training is subject to cancellation. In order for us to have an accurate count and contact information for everyone at the training, please sign up at least once week prior to your training. It’s important that ALL personnel attending the training fill out the registration. This will help us plan for food and materials as well as have everyone’s contact information.
