Districts and schools receive 2018 performance awards
More than 350 performance awards were given out at CDE's annual ceremony. In total, 65 districts and 267 schools throughout Colorado were honored.

Statewide student enrollment growth slows
Colorado public schools experienced the smallest increase in enrollment of students in nearly 30 years, only about 0.1 percent. Total statewide enrollment was 911,536 public school students.

State Board supports governor's full-day kindergarten plan
The State Board of Education approved a resolution supporting Gov. Jared Polis’ proposal to offer free, full-day kindergarten throughout the state. The board has long supported early literacy programs to ensure that all students are reading at grade level by the end of third grade.

State's graduation rate continues to improve
Colorado’s four-year graduation rate increased to 80.7 percent for the high school graduates last spring, continuing the steady upward trend over the last decade.The Class of 2018 had 2,540 more graduates than the Class of 2017.

State Board approves ratings for Colorado schools
Of Colorado public schools, 68 percent earned the state's top accountability designation. A total of 611,268 students, or 70 percent of the state's public school students, attend one of the 1,239 schools that received a Performance Plan designation.
