Building Resiliency for Suicide and Substance Abuse Prevention

This training will address strategies to promote resiliency for suicide & substance abuse prevention for elementary through high school students. Keynote speakers include Jonathan Singer, PhD LCSW, the co-author of Suicide in Schools: A Practitioner’s Guide, and Kent MacLennan, the director of Rise Above Colorado. The training is designed for school administrators, teachers, school safety team members, school/community mental health professionals, law enforcement, and anyone who works with youth. It is sponsored by the Colorado School Safety Resource Center, the Colorado School Social Work Association, the Colorado Department of Education, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
