Poudre School District (PSD) serves approximately 26,000 students across more than 50 schools and programs in Larimer County. Poudre School District (PSD) serves approximately 26,000 students across more than 50 schools and programs in Larimer County. PSD is committed to ensuring that every student is prepared for success in college, career, and life, while responsibly managing public resources to support high-quality educational opportunities. The district operates a comprehensive system of neighborhood schools, choice programs, charter schools, and specialized learning opportunities designed to meet the diverse needs of students in a growing and geographically broad community. Like many Colorado school districts, PSD has historically been impacted by the state’s Budget Stabilization Factor, which reduced funding below the level defined by the School Finance Act. While recent state actions have eliminated this factor for the first time since 2009, PSD remains effectively at the “floor” of state funding, receiving only the minimum per-pupil funding required under the formula. This places ongoing pressure on the district to balance rising costs, enrollment changes, and program needs within limited financial resources. This financial transparency website is the result of state legislation (HB 14-1292) that required the Colorado Department of Education to create a site that translates school and district revenues and expenditures into a consistent, user-friendly format for the public. For comparability and consistency, the method used on this website excludes certain records from revenue and expenditure totals to avoid duplication. As a result, the financial information presented here differs from the district’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and adopted budget, which include all revenues and expenditures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). PSD remains committed to transparency and encourages stakeholders to review this information in conjunction with the district’s budget and financial reports to gain a comprehensive understanding of how resources are allocated in support of students and schools.
