Ascent Classical Academy - Douglas County is entering its 5th year and now with its 4th headmaster. The first two left under less than desirable circumstances and the 3rd left after two years, a year before it was planned. There was considerable unrest among the faculty leading up to the departure of the 3rd headmaster and 10 of the 41 members of the faculty left at the end of the year. Eight of the ten departures were from the upper school staff of 14 teachers. Despite the turnover in administr… ation, student performance on SAT tests and the Classical Learning Test (CLT) are right at the national average. DIBELS scores are consistently above district averages for grades K thru 3rd. CMAS scores show ACADC at the 51st percentile in ELA and the 39th percentile in math, or an overall 45th percentile.
