About Grand Peak Academy (4251)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Grand Peak Academy

2023-2024

Grand Peak Academy is a Pre-K through 8th grade classical education public charter school in Falcon District 49 that serves approximately 625 students. Our classical education is based on the Core Knowledge Scope and Sequence. For the 23-24 school year, our administrative team will be composed of a Principal, Assistant Principal, and Dean of Students. The goals for Grand Peak Academy align with the state of Colorado's academic and non-academic priorities, as well as our mission and vision. Grand… Peak believes that quality teachers and staff are an essential ingredient for high student performance. Grand Peak Academy is comprised of a diverse student population that includes 43% minority students. To enrich student experiences outside of the classroom, we offer a wide variety of clubs such as, Landsharks, karate, cooking, Legos, garden, basketball, volleyball, cartooning, band, choir, and Character Council. Grand Peak Academy strives to focus on the whole child by providing social-emotional learning lessons taught by our school counselor. To accompany this, our whole staff is trained in Capturing Kids' Hearts, which is a character based curriculum that offers a relationship driven culture and student connectedness. In addition to these programs, we have a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) program which supports students by creating a common language, school wide expectations, and positive interactions between students and staff. Students' positive efforts are recognized through the distribution of ''bear paws'' that can be redeemed for various prizes and incentives. To create the UIP, input was received from the administrative team, teachers from elementary and middle school, our Math and Reading Intervention teachers, as well as a director of education and school leadership coach. The team reviewed data and agreed on the trends and Priority Performance Challenges. The UIP will be presented to the School Accountability Committee and School Board for approval.
