Banning Lewis Academy serves students in grades K-12 on two separate campuses (K-5 and 6-12). We are a public charter school that is located in a rapidly developing area in District 49. The 2020-2021 school year was the first year that BLA served full classes of student's kindergarten through 12th grade. BLA is projected to serve approximately 1550-1700 students in the 2023-2024 school year. The UIP team will be composed of administration from each level (elementary, middle school/high school), …
teachers from each level, School Accountability Committee, and Accel Schools, our education management organization. Banning Lewis Academy has achieved a Performance Plan rating every year that this rating system has been in place in Colorado scoring a 65.4/100 for the 2022-2023 performance framework. Our process for UIP development is outlined below. Review and analyze data for the purpose of identifying significant trends and prioritizing performance challenges. Determine performance targets and identify root causes for trends and challenges. Write major improvement strategies ? include interim measures and implementation benchmarks and ensure alignment to our educational model. The UIP Team will continually revisit this work as a living process to ensure that our Improvement Strategies are being implemented and reflected on throughout the 2023-2024 school year.
