The Steamboat Springs School District (SSSD) is one of the highest achieving school districts in the State of Colorado. SSSD encompasses approximately 972 square miles in Routt County located in the Rocky Mountains of northwest Colorado. We provide a full range of preK-12 educational school programs and services for about 2,500 students. In addition to our four neighborhood schools and two high schools, the District is home ... The Steamboat Springs School District (SSSD) is one of the highest achieving school districts in the State of Colorado. SSSD encompasses approximately 972 square miles in Routt County located in the Rocky Mountains of northwest Colorado. We provide a full range of preK-12 educational school programs and services for about 2,500 students. In addition to our four neighborhood schools and two high schools, the District is home to the North Routt Community Charter School. SSSD receives a significant amount of local revenue from a 0.5% sales tax that that the voters originally approved in 1993. The tax has a 10-year sun setting component and was reapproved by the voters a fourth time in 2018.
