Arapahoe County School District Number Six, commonly referred to as Littleton Public Schools (LPS), has received a Rating of Accredited with Distinction or Accredited by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) every year since the rating was established in 2010. LPS has established a District Achievement Goal that states, "One hundred percent of LPS students will graduate prepared for meaningful post-secondary opportunities." Arapahoe County School District Number Six, commonly referred to as Littleton Public Schools (LPS), has received a Rating of Accredited with Distinction or Accredited by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) every year since the rating was established in 2010. LPS has established a District Achievement Goal that states, "One hundred percent of LPS students will graduate prepared for meaningful post-secondary opportunities." The district operates one early childhood program, ten elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, one combined alternative middle school/high school, one career and technical campus, and two charter schools. The district is organized to meet the needs of 13,226 students in fiscal year 2023-2024. The district encompasses approximately 28 square miles in western Arapahoe County in the southern portion of the Denver metropolitan area. The district’s boundaries include the town of Columbine Valley, the majority of the city of Littleton, and portions of the municipalities of Bow Mar, Centennial, Englewood, and Greenwood Village. This financial transparency website is the result of state legislation (HB 14-1292 The Student Success Act) that passed in 2014 establishing the Colorado Department of Education to create a website that translates the expenditures and revenues for school districts into a consistent format. For consistency with federal reporting requirements established by the U.S. Department of Education, the method used on this website excludes certain records from revenue and expenditure totals. These records are excluded to avoid duplication or inflation of revenues and expenditures. This method is different than the presentation in the district’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and budgetary reporting. The district’s reports include all expenditures and revenues as required by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) defined through the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
