Founded in 1996, Summit Cove Elementary School has a rich history as the hub of a close-knit community. The easy access to outdoor recreation in a stunning mountain setting makes a healthy and active lifestyle a priority for our families. ls to support success in life. Summit Cove Elementary is proud to be an integrated IB school where students engage in tasks that develop the ten learner attributes as part of their school day. In 2018, the school went through a renovation to support a transition to a STEM school of innovation within the IB model. This renovation created a dedicated state-of-the-art STEM lab and intentional STEM-focused units of inquiry. During the past decade, the neighborhood has experienced changes in the number of families with school-age children, as is true with maturing neighborhoods. We are observing more younger families moving into the neighborhood and are encouraged about the continuation of the strong presence of the school as a community hub. After 19 years of service, the principal retired in 2023, and a new principal was selected to lead the school beginning in August 2023.
