Pleasant View Charter School is located in a rural community in southwestern Colorado. We have a population of 31 students in grades K-5. Due to our low numbers, we have mixed grade classrooms. This is year one as a charter school due to the district opting to close our site as a traditional public elementary school. The Pleasant View community is unique and rural and felt strongly about keeping the school to preserve as much of the tradition and culture as possible. As a new charter school this…
year, Pleasant View offers school choice by focusing on the needs and values of the community it serves. The community is deeply rooted in agriculture. Our vision as a charter school is to provide our students with a solid background in ELA, math, social studies and science (with an emphasis on environmental and agricultural sciences). Our school embraces community support and involvement and seeks to invite experts from the community into our building to educate students further for post-secondary education and the work force.
